The Men’s Shed movement is an Australian initiative, with the primary objective to provide safe, friendly environments where men feel they belong and are able to work on meaningful projects in the company of other men –hence advancing the health and well-being of male members. There are now over 900 Men’s Sheds throughout Australian cities and country and the movement has spread to Ireland and Canada.

DC Conferences (DCC) has been involved in managing the biennial Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) Conference since the Association was formed in 2007 and it was a privilege to celebrate the AMSA ten-year anniversary at this Conference in the Gold Coast with the theme Onwards and Upwards – Share, Talk, Discover.

Teaming up with one of Sydney’s newest event spaces, COMMUNE was the canvas for the August 11 event which saw 300 influential event planners experience the future of décor, lighting, technical support, entertainment, pyrotechnics, food, wine and styling provided by Event Inception’s collaborators. VictorsFood and SCG Events Deliver a Perfect Pitch

I have experienced a few dull networking events where you wait around for the business card draw and then head for the door – that certainly wasn’t the case on Tuesday 28 April 2015. VictorsFood & SCG Events teamed together to present a fabulous ‘Night of Connection’ at the Sydney Cricket Ground. My colleague Jo and I were fortunate enough to attend, along with ninety other professionals from the events industry.

The event was a standout. The energy and enthusiasm from the VictorsFood team set the scene for the evening and had everyone excited about becoming chefs for the night. We were divided among eight tables, where we worked together to prepare eight tapas style dishes with the assistance of the VictorsFood chefs.

With stunning views over the Sydney Cricket Ground and skyline of the CBD, the SCG was a perfect venue for the event.

Jo and I left the SCG excited for the following day to tell team at DCC about our night.
